Online Coaching

Have you struggled to get into great shape? Have you tried several programs and they didn’t work for you? Then maybe Journey Fitness Online Coaching will work for you!

I’m Richard Lee, and since 2009 I have been helping clients of all ages, shapes and sizes get into the best shape of their lives. I have worked with clients in a large chain gym, a small training studio, in their homes as a mobile personal trainer, and as a strength and conditioning coach for a high school lacrosse team.

I’m taking on a small number of online coaching clients that want to get in the best shape of their lives, and want me to work one-on-one with them to virtually guarantee their success.

If that sounds like you, then read on because I’ll map out how we can work together to guarantee your success for a fraction of the cost of working with some mediocre trainer at the local gym.

Your Results Are Guaranteed

If you’ve been in this business long enough, you’ll realize that experience matters more than anything else. I’ve been a trainer since 2009, coaching clients in person for 11 years. My online coaching is not like the stuff you may see on Instagram, YouTube, or Facebook. Many “online trainers” might not have even coached anyone in person before! Some of them just like to workout and make videos, that’s crazy! How could they possibly know what potential problems someone might have with an exercise or know how to train anyone that’s not already in shape? Those are skills that only a coach with experience can handle. I certainly was not good at that when I was a new coach.

Many trainers don’t have much rhyme or reason for what they do in their programs and just copy and paste programs they found on the internet. I’ve had 11 years to get my programming dialed and still strive to get better all the time. Every one of my clients gets personalized programming based on their movement screens, injury history, training level, and equipment they have access to. No cookie cutter programs here. This does take a bit of my time to come up with programming for you but it will help to maximize your results and reduce any chance of injuries from training.

How Can I Guarantee Your Success?

I’ve been coaching people since 2009, and I have an efficient system worked out.

The first thing we’ll do is set-up a time to have a strategy session over Zoom or FaceTime. During this time we’ll talk about:

  • What your goals are
  • What you’ve done in the past
  • How that worked (or didn’t work for you and what we can learn from that)
  • Do a Functional Movement Screen and talk about your injury history
  • Talk about where you’ll most likely be training (i.e. at your home gym, at a local gym, if you travel for work and need hotel workouts)
  • How much time you realistically have in your week to commit to training

Then we can determine if we will be a good fit to work together. By the end of that initial conversation, I’ll have a great idea as to where you’re starting from, and what we need to do to get you stronger, moving better, and feeling better.

From there, I will design a 100% customized training program that is specific to your unique needs and goals. Don’t have time for hour long workouts? No problem, I’ll create a program with that in mind. Everything is custom.

It’s Not Just Programming – It’s Online COACHING

I have one goal with my clients: deliver results.

If I didn’t deliver results for my clients, they would stop paying me! I have several clients that have trained with me for 10 years and counting!

Programming your workouts is just the start of the process.

You will get COACHING and support on a weekly basis. It would be a disservice to give you a program and then expect you to figure it out! That would be like handing you a college physics book and telling you , “here is all the info you need to pass the class, see you at the final exam!”

Every week, you will check in with me to let me know how your workouts are going so I can make sure you are improving. You will send me video clips of your training so I can check how your exercise technique is progressing and give you feedback whether we need to progress or even regress your exercises.

Every 4-6 weeks, I will update your program based on how things are going so that I can progress you at the appropriate rate. Again, no cookie cutter workouts here. Your body will start to get more mobile, stronger, and move better so your program must change to keep challenging you!

So what does all this cost???

Clients that train three times a week with me on Zoom/FaceTime pay $900 per month, I know that may seem like a lot of money to most people, but those clients truly understand how my coaching is an investment in their health and wellbeing. I decided to offer Online Coaching at a fraction of the price but you get the same great programming and accountability at a fraction of the cost.

You can get started for just $199 per month!

Remember, this isn’t some cookie cutter workout program that will be in your inbox the second you pay me. This will take time for me to write out and for all the weekly communication with you. If you just want random workouts with little to no accountability or support, there are other services out there for just a few bucks a month that I am sure would be glad to take your money.

Again, This Is NOT For Everybody!

I truly love what I do for a living, and nothing gets me more jazzed up than seeing the results my clients get. Unfortunately, I’m a busy guy and my time is very valuable to me. So I have to be a little picky when it comes to who I take on as a client.

If you’re interested in working together, here is my criteria for every client I coach:

  1. Show Up. What most people don’t realize is that they don’t have to be doing some outrageous and restrictive diet or some “smoke and mirrors” exercise they saw on Instagram to get results. The biggest reason why people don’t get results is that they are not consistent in showing up for workouts and with their nutrition habits. If you don’t show up, I cannot guarantee your results. It’s that simple. If you trust the process and show up everyday, you will get fantastic results!
  2. Work Hard. This is not optional. If you are serious about achieving your goals, you have to be willing to get a bit uncomfortable. I can assure you the results are worth it.
  3. Be Coachable. That doesn’t mean listen to me or else, I am always open to feedback. But you must keep an open mind to my approach. If it’s different than what you’ve done in the past, I understand that but know there’s a reason for what I am doing!

They may sound simple at first glance, but I assure you there aren’t many “secrets” in this game. If you show up, work hard, and allow me to coach you, I know we’re going to see some great results.

But this type of coaching may not be for everyone. If you need even more accountability, are new to exercise, or coming off of an injury and need more supervision, this might not be a great fit for you. But that’s ok, for people that might fall in one of or even all of those categories, training face to face via Zoom/FaceTime will be a better option and maybe this type of coaching will be a better fit down the road.
